I have a few obsessions in this life. Tea, Shih-tzu dogs, and all things organization. And that includes planners. The planners that I’ve purchased in the past were either from Walmart or Target. And I thought $15-$20 was way to much for stuff like this!! But alas..never in my life did I think to pay $58 for a planner! Plus shipping and handling. Why you ask? Who in their right mind would pay $58 for something as insignificant as this? If not a planner, than one would still pay top dollar for makeup or whatever else. See, for us people who obsess over planning and keeping things in order, finding the PERFECT planner is a never ending journey. Even for most students, moms, teachers, etc… planners are way way to keep one’s self sane, and responsible amid busy, and hustling lives. And yes, I still am a little old fashioned, and like my paper and pen planners verses the digital phone planners. It is just not the same.
I shall go in a bit of detail about THE ONE. Yes, that one planner that I will not stop raving about that I recently purchased. It is the Simplified Planner by Emily Ley. I picked the weekly planner, since I will be working 12 hour hospital shifts, I did not need the hourly time slots the Daily Planner provides. For this version, the dates start from August 2015. This planner is the size of 7.75 x 9 inches, and fits into my purse without feeling to bulky. The designs of these beauties are chic, modern, simple, and just a the right amount of color that catches the eye and is not to overbearing. The binding is a gold metal spiral, along with gold metal covered corners. Inside the front cover is a pocket to hold notes, letters, odds and ends. All the planners Daily ,Weekly, Academic have a monthly overview. Every other page has a quote. There is plenty of room for writing notes, and scheduling. For the Daily planner, each day has 10 lines for writing stuff, and the other half has a task check off list. Days of the week are color coded, there is a small box to write in meals of the day and on Sundays, check off list for weekly prep.
There are 3 color designs to choose from, and layouts ranging from the Daily, Weekly, Academic. Emily Ley is coming out with another batch of these planners Sept 9th. I also forgot to mention this planner comes in a Deep Navy color heavy duty keepsake box. Whether you’re a polka dot lover, crazy about stripes, obsessed with anything gold trimmed, or need a clutter free no extra chaos added planner, than I would definitely recommend the Simplified Planner.
